Mental health 2019 - Partner Profile - Checkware

Who are CheckWare?

CheckWare was established in 2007, by clinicians, to enable the digital assessment of patients – through clinically authorised assessment tests (PROMS) – with over 400 Hospitals, Clinics and NHS Trusts already benefiting from CheckWare in the UK and Scandinavia.

How has CheckWare improved people’s mental health in the UK?

CheckWare makes it possible for patients to participate digitally in their treatment by using CheckWare for self-reporting and distance care-management… they become more involved in their own care.

By being able to “self – manage”, without pens and paper, with diets, exercises, goals, diaries and video libraries – as well as “self-assessment / self reporting capabilities patients take part in their well-being much more – without constant clinical intervention.

What has been your greatest achievement to date? And were there any measurable outcomes that accompanied this achievement?

CheckWare is established in the UK and Scandinavia as the “go to” system for digital assessment and outcome measure provision. Well over 500,000 patients have benefited from being involved in digital assessment and treatment.

How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?

Multiple NHS trusts (primary and secondary care) and private organisations use CheckWare to clinically assess patients, involve patients in their own treatment and prove outcome measures.

Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the Mental Health 2019 conference on 26th September?

CheckWare works on any digital device – and can empower the patient to “self-report” between clinical appointments assisting them to feel more involved in their treatment … and allowing clinicians to prioritise waiting lists or be automatically informed of any patient health changes or deteriorations.

What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with CheckWare?

Mental Health Quote "I believe it will make things easier for the patients in terms of filling in questionnaires, make the services more efficient and hopefully increase our response rate, particularly of our more mobile younger patient group. This can only lead to more robust evaluation of our interventions, ultimately leading to improvements in patient care.”Head of Service NHS Trust (Midlands)

Clinical Research study Quote From a researcher perspective data completion was more robust, the prompts to complete all questions in the assessment were very beneficial and ensured more complete sets of data. CheckWare also negated the need for paper-based questionnaires, postage and subsequent data entry. Convenience, speed and ease of completion.

To summarise, participants and research staff found the CheckWare system acceptable, easy to use, convenient and less burdensome than paper-based questionnaires, and it provided immediate data capture and feedback to participants and researchers quickly and with high quality”
