How has OJO Solutions improved population health in the UK?
Our work with health and social care organisations like The Disabilities Trust, Dorothy House Hospice and St John’s Foundation is proving to be life-changing. By transforming and modernising the services provided by our clients, we’re enabling them to improve care provision, create patient-led experiences and expand their offering. For four years, OJO Solutions have worked alongside The Disabilities Trust – a leading national health and social care charity offering specialist community-based, residential and hospital support for adults with acquired brain injury, complex physical or learning disabilities and for people with autism.
We carried out a complete overhaul of the organisation’s infrastructure, delivering secure yet flexible access that is enabling staff to work anywhere on any device. We implemented and designed an ecosystem of solutions to enable information to flow effectively and efficiently through the organisation. This included collaborative tools that allow them to share best practice and engage with patients over video and online. As well as other back office systems such as CRM, HR, finance and risk management to help manage staff, income and expenditure and patient safety. We explored and defined the patient journey and assessed the need for electronic patient management. The effect of this was transformational for staff, who are supporting over 1,000 patients across the UK. The Disabilities Trust team swapped the days of manual spreadsheets, written documentation and frozen software for a fully integrated secure cloud solution, allowing them to operate flexibility with intuitive, streamlined processes, which in turn resulted in a better experience for those accessing their services.
Additionally, we pioneered the Trust’s exploration and adoption of emerging and new technologies that could transform the way they delivered services and provide greater independence to patients while ensuring safety. This manifested itself in the creation of a smart – and safe – home for rehabilitated patients, and the implementation of a hands-on Assistive Technology hub as part of the charity’s ConnectAbility Campaign to allow anyone to come and test the assistive communication technology.
What has been your greatest achievement to date? And were there any measurable outcomes that accompanies this achievement?
Through the digital transformation offered, OJO Solutions helped The Disabilities Trust to reduce costs, increase patient safety and put the organisation on a path to meet its longer-term strategic goals. Not only this, but we successfully created a digital mindset, supporting the organisation to become a place where modern technology is adopted as the norm, but also somewhere that new and emerging technology is continually explored and tested for its potential to help. This shift in outlook meant that the Trust’s leaders were able to take control, reflecting on the type of organisation they wanted to be and how they could use digital solutions to make that happen.
How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?
We currently work with a range of health and social care providers from across the UK – many of which are charities providing vital health services or extending and complimenting the offering of our National Health Service. Our work is directly benefitting the thousands of people that access vital services through the healthcare charities we support because our goal is to empower these organisations. Our clients include The Disabilities Trust, Solace Women’s Aid, Dorothy House Hospice, St John’s Foundation, Deaf Plus, Pobl, The Fire Fighters Charity and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, to name but a few.
