How has MariCare improved dementia care and support in Finland?
During our time in the Elderly Care industry we have supported numerous residents in areas of rehabilitation, disabled and assisted living and dementia care home environments.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
MariCare’s reference list is long. The Elsi Smart Floor has been installed in more than 3000 apartments in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, France and Australia. One success story is the 130 room Kustaankartano Nursing Home in Helsinki, Finland. After installing the Elsi Smart Floor System the care home experienced a reduction in costs relating to workforce, laundry and medicines along with improved staff retention. And were there any measurable outcomes that accompanied this achievement?
Reduction in staff hours.
Reduced sick leave and hence a reduction in temporary staff.
Reduced falls.
Increased daily activities and improved sleeping patterns helped reduce the use of medicines.
Reduced laundry with timely bathroom visits.
Improved resident safety due to the resident feeling more secure.
Increased resident activity meaning less time spent in bed.
